世界第一的新加坡数学,到底有多厉害?

Mathematics plays a vital role in all aspects of life. The importance of mathematics can be seen in hidden ways, and in everyday usage all around us.

在当今社会,我们不难发现, 数学在生活的各个方面都起着至关重要的作用。在人们每天的生活中,都会不知不觉地运用到数学的知识和技能。

01  [什么是新加坡数学]

What is Singapore Math?

Students in Singapore consistently rank among the best in math and complex problem solving worldwide. In response to this proven success, Singapore Math has been widely adopted in various forms around the world.

新加坡学生的数理能力和解决复杂问题能力在全球是领先的。 正是因为新加坡数学的成功,它在世界各地被广泛采用。

Singapore math focuses on teaching by doing. Teachers use a visual way of teaching that allows students to make connections between concepts. This method is intended to help students master overall mathematical skill and learn on a deeper level, not simply prepare to pass a test

Some of the key features of the Singapore Math method include the CPA (Concrete Pictorial Abstract) approach

新加坡的数学教学中,用得最多的,就是CPA(具象化+ 形象化+抽象化)教学法

CPA--- Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach   CPA(具象化+ 形象化+抽象化)教学法:

Student develops an understanding of a mathematical concept through the three steps below:

学生通过以下三个步骤发展对数学概念的理解

1. Concrete representation: The physical stage

具象化 (感知阶段)

Students are first introduced to an idea or a skill by acting it out with real objects. This is a 'hands on' component using real objects and it is the foundation for conceptual understanding.

首先学生通过操作真实的物体去认识数学概念。这种使用实物的“动手”经验,是理解和掌握一个概念的基础。

2. Pictorial representation- The iconic stage

形象化(图形阶段)

Students sufficiently understood the hands-on experiences performed and can now relate them to representations, such as a diagram or picture of the problem.

当学生有了充足的动手经验后,学生可以通过图形直观的理解数学关系,解决数学问题

3. Abstract representation-The symbolic stage

抽象化(象征性阶段)

Students are now capable of representing problems by using mathematical notation.

这一阶段, 学生建立起从具体到抽象的运算思维

The CPA model works brilliantly in the primary years but for the young learners, moving onto abstract concepts too early causes difficulties.Spending as much time as possible with concrete objects and pictorial representations will help them master number skills.

这里要注意的是, CPA教学法在对于年幼的学习者而言,过早采用抽象化教学会给孩子造成困难。所以,在幼儿教学阶段, 应该使用尽可能多的时间来进行具体化和形象化教学将有助于他们掌握数字技能。

In Invictus pre-school, we make sure that children have plenty of opportunities to learn math concepts/skills with concrete objects and pictorial representation in K3 math lesson.

Create a mathematic environment

Apart from math lesson, we also make sure to create a mathematic environment in school to enable our children of different age groups to have opportunities to explore math concepts with concrete objects and pictorial representations.

除了K3的幼小衔接数学课堂, 我们将根据每个孩子的年龄特征, 利用日常的生活及各种教学活动,为孩子提供丰富的动手操作的经验/机会, 以帮助孩子通过具体化和形象化的形式认识数学概念及掌握数学技能.

N2 Children learn to count during craft making activities

N2 Children learn the numbers and shapes with books

60-72个月

Every day, Children should be encouraged to solve numerical problems, and learn about other math concepts, not necessarily academic in nature. Here we would like to make a few suggestions below to help parents to apply mathematics in the context of everyday activities.

我们每天都应鼓励孩子解决生活中数学问题,而这些概念不一定是学术性质的。为帮助家长们在家中的日常生活中引导孩子认识数学概念, 家长们可以试试以下的做法:

l Buying daily items- Ask your child to count how many items you have bought, or look for a product with the lowest price to review the concepts of major and minor.

在和孩子一起购物的过程中, 让孩子数数已经买到的物品, 或让孩子找到标价最低的商品

l Kitchen- While preparing a recipe, children can help in the task of measuring or weighing ingredients.

鼓励孩子在厨房帮忙. 在孩子和您一起准备食物的时候, 孩子可以学习使用量杯等器具帮助认识相关数学概念

l Sorting out items at home-encourage your child to line up all the shoes according to the sizes/colours etc.

给孩子小任务将家中的物品进行分类排列, 比如鼓励孩子把鞋子按大小/颜色等进行排列

We believe that the impact of Singapore Math cannot be underestimated. In invictus pre-school, through implementing Singapore Math approach, children are interested and motivated, understand “how to think” rather than being taught “what to think”, and children work problems out by themselves and then have the ability to explain what they have learnt.

It is fantastic to see that the children in Invictus have the chance to make progress in all the aspects.
